Our Story
Unfortunately, some black kids grow up alienated from aspects of their cultural heritage and African roots that are essential in forging a strong sense of self-respect, self-appreciation, and self-love. We believe exposing Black people to a strong sense of lineage and heritage is essential in solidifying a strong sense of identity from both an ethnic and human perspective. Our goal is to use short stories and poetry as a vehicle to communicate and explore the richness of being Black and of African descent to young Black kids growing up around the globe and help cultivate the trait of learned optimism in them.
